Dwight Gayle leaves Palace for Newcastle - here are his Top 5 goals in red and blue

Written by FYP Fanzine

Dwight Gayle's Palace career is over.

The diminutive striker has joined Newcastle for £10m after three seasons at Selhurst Park where for a number of reasons it just didn't work out.

But Gayley did offer Eagles fans some memorable moments and scored some key goals for the side over that period.

Indeed he also finished top league scorer all three seasons for Palace despite never really getting a proper extended run in th first team.

But to commemorate his time at SE25 we have compiled his Top 5 goals for Palace.

Let's take a look...

5. Stoke

His last goal for Palace and definitely one of his best, this free-kick completed a 2-1 victory for the Eagles on the final day of last season having been behind.

4. Fulham

Another free-kick, this time on the last day of the 2013/14 season. It confirmed him as Palace's top league scorer, which he has been for the lat three seasons.

3. Burnley

One of a few late winners Gayle scored for Palace, tucking away beautifully after Glenn Murray's neat dummy.

2. Villa

Probably his best goal technically, a superb 25-yard curler to win it for Palace in the 92nd minute at Villa Park in what was a precious away point.

1. Liverpool

It had to be didn't it? Not just a neat finish with his weaker foot but a goal to complete one of the most famous Premier League comebacks ever.
