Crystal Palace Start 2022/23 Season With Tricky First Few Fixtures

Written by FYP Fanzine

The fixture computer hasn't been that kind to Palace at the start of the 2022/23 Premier League season. Patrick Vieira's side face Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City in their first four fixtures.

They open the new campaign on the Friday night at home to Arsenal which although on paper seems a tough draw, there was that fantastic Monday night thrashing of the Gunners last season.

The Eagles follow that up with a trip to Liverpool, where they haven't won or picked up any points since 2017.

For the third game of the season Aston Villa visit Selhurst Park, which also won't be easy given their spending power this summer, before Palace travel back up north to face Manchester City in gameweek four. Again, tough on paper but there was that famous victory at the Etihad last season.

Brentford and home and then Newcastle away are the following fixtures where Palace will need to get some points after a tricky opening four fixtures.

The final game before the mid-season break for the frankly ridiculous World Cup in Qatar is away at Forest on November 12th and Palace return to action at home to Fulham on Boxing Day.

Obviously we'll all be looking for the games agaist Brighton, which are currently down for away on September 17th and home on February 11th, both Saturdays currently but expect probably both to be moved for TV.

Palace end the season playing all three promote teams with Bournemouth at home, followed by Fulham away and a boat ride on the Thames no doubt, wrapping up the season against Nottingham Forest at home.

Full fixture list below. Currently all Saturday games are at 3pm and all midweek games are either 7.45pm or 8pm but of course dates and times for some will change when the TV fixtures are released.
